Bespoke Framing

We offer an on-site bespoke framing service and pride ourselves on our hand-constructed bespoke frames.
Because everything is done individually, to your specifications, we pay close attention to detail so that you get a professional,
high quality handmade frame.

Over 500 Frame Samples in Store!

We have well over 500 different frame styles to choose from, ranging from modern, flat colours to more rustic shapes with several different finishes. With all this choice, we are sure to have something that suits your taste and artwork beautifully.

We have traditional and modern styles (FSC certified where possible). There are too many to list here so please do visit our gallery and workshop, where you can see all of our mouldings on display. If you are not sure what you would like, we have experience in matching colours and styles with either your decor or the artwork and we are more than happy to help you make the right choice.

Below are a few examples of our most popular styles:

Plain Wood

A favourite choice is plain wood, as it offers a warm natural finish that is completely unique each time because of variances in tone and grain.

Plain woods are also quite popular at present because of their versatility and ability to work well against most decors. We hand apply and buff wax into the surface to give extra protection. It is also possible for you to paint some of our plain wood mouldings if desired. Plain woods are available in Pine, Oak, Ash, Beech and Obeche, although the most popular are Ash and Oak.

Finishing Your Frame

We use good quality 2.3mm thick backing board, lined with brown Kraft paper for increased rigidity and a professional finish. It is a dense board, but is lighter in weight than MDF. Once the backing board is placed into the frame, we hold everything inside the frame by shooting pins around the back of the frame. The back is then sealed with tape, this seal helps to prevent dust and small insects entering the frame, keeping your artwork as fresh as possible for as long as possible.

You can find out more about the mount options available by looking at our Mount Options page.

How Much?

As you can see, it is very difficult to quote a price, with the thousands of different mount/frame/glass combinations that are possible! However, we have chosen 7 differently styled and priced frame styles to give you an idea of how varied the prices can be. The following price guide is based on a 20″ x 16″ finished frame, with a standard single mount. We have used frame styles from our basic ranges, and from our premium Larson Juhl ranges to illustrate how much the prices can vary.

The prices below are examples only. Your quote will also vary depending on your choices of any optional extras, such as double mounts, multiple apertures, v-grooves, thicker 2.4mm mountboard or the use of filets around mount apertures for example.
